Racing for A Cure
Feel like you're always racing to finish something?
On July 9th, LM&P was racing for a cause.
On that bright Saturday morning, no less than a dozen LM&Pers joined together to run in the Boomer Esaison Foundation (BEF) 10K race in Central Park to support research for a cure of Cystic Fibrosis (CF).
The event, appropriately titled "Run to Breathe,” raised money and awareness of CF—a disease that affects more than 30,000 Americans. Although a cure has not yet been found, the situation is far from hopeless. Every day the pace of CF research accelerates—and today, 40% of the CF population is over the age of 18. Thanks to advances in medicine and technology, these adults are enjoying an improved quality of life.
Since its inception, the BEF has raised over $100 million to help find a cure for CF. The BEF supports the CF community by developing programs to help people with CF live, breathe, and succeed—despite the disease.
Team LM&P showed their support by completing the 6.2 mile race—with our own Stephen Bell, Andrea Archer and Pat Grimaldi completing in (near!) record time. Our runners and our Pro Bono committee succeeded in raising over $700 to contribute towards the BEF’s goal to win the fight against CF.
LM&P learned a valuable lesson in life that day. As we are constantly racing to meet client deadlines, thousands are racing for a cure for CF. We are inspired by their efforts, and will continue to run side-by-side with charitable foundations like the BEF with the confidence that together, we can make a difference.

Team LM&P Rocks!
Just a note to say thanks to Team LM&P and all of their supporters who helped make the Run to Breathe a successful event.
It is because of people like them - and the thousands of others who participated in this inaugural 10K - that we are able to make a real difference in the cystic fibrosis community.
